Nice image, and having been to the Smoky Mountains, I can atest to their beauty.

But I just don't understand the bigger white area on the bottom of the image. Seems undeed imo.

What a great stream! It is so hard to render chaotic things like ripples and foam in pencil. Easier with paint, I'll bet.
